The 2025 IAQG in Airbus Communication Event took place in Donauwörth, Germany, on April 29th, 2025. This is the third time that an Airbus cross-divisional team has worked together to organize an event to spread knowledge of what IAQG delivers and the added value for Airbus Group and its supply chain.
Airbus Commercial, Airbus Helicopters, Airbus Defence & Space, Airbus Aerostructures as well as Airbus Atlantic took part in this event, with colleagues ranging from different functions like procurement, quality, maintenance, program, etc. Around 400 people participated both physically and remotely.
The day started with a presentation by Gottfried Hornung, Head of Airframe and Composites, who shared insights into the activities of Airbus Helicopters in Donauwörth. Florence Verlut, Head of Aviation Safety and Quality, highlighted the importance of building and maintaining long-term, trustworthy collaborations and how Airbus has contributed to the industry since the creation of the IAQG. She emphasised the value IAQG brings back and its relevance to maintaining the focus.
The event continued with a fruitful panel discussion, highlighting the IAQG portfolio of products and services, new initiatives, and the global reach of the IAQG and value for the industry, along with the value for Airbus. Special guests joined us: EAQG Chair, Nino Giardina (Leonardo), AAQG Chair, Barrie Hicklin (Honeywell), IAQG Voting members, Eric Dubois (Safran) and André Lacroix (Ariane Group). Additionally, Anne Valadez (Thales) and Jon Wandless (Rolls-Royce) shared their perspectives on the collaboration between industry companies and IAQG. Speakers explained how IAQG partnerships help strengthen quality standards and improve overall performance within the aerospace sector. The audience interaction was very active, illustrating the interest in IAQG and the value it can bring to the supply chain further.
Emmanuelle Stempak, Member of the IAQG SCMH SMS Working Group and Aviation Safety Governance Manager at Airbus Commercial, presented the Safety Management System and discussed its implications for suppliers, particularly the SCMH guidance.
Airbus representatives who had made outstanding contributions to IAQG projects during the past year were recognised during this event.
To conclude the day, marketplaces were held to further inform the public about the IAQG’s main committees: standards, certification scheme, and SCMH.
This event has reinforced the Airbus group collaboration and initiatives in IAQG and value for Airbus.
To conclude, a BIG thank you to all our speakers, who helped share key information and raise the IAQG’s visibility. We would also like to thank all participants for their involvement. We are proud to have such an invested community and look forward to seeing you again next year, as we continue to evolve together towards a more sustainable aerospace for a safe and united world.
